Quote from Dirty Dog Live Music TV:
October 2011 Musicians are like looking at the stars in the sky on a clear night. Some are brilliant and shine brightly against the darkness, standing out above all of the others. Some stars are newly forming and have not yet reached their full splendor. Others shine magnificently for years, then burn away quickly leaving a trail of glory for those lucky enough to have seen them. Big Music has a way of only letting some stars shine, not always the best or most deserving. It didn't used to be that way. Before, only the best were given that place in Big Music's sky. Now they dress their stars up in outrageous costume, manufacture their vocals with synthetic digital enhancements, and pander them to young unsuspecting star-gazers. But they bypass a whole audience of us more experienced astronomers, who aren't so easily fooled, and still demand excellence from those we observe and appreciate. Jake Banta is a true star in the sky. He is exceptional in that he is not only trail-blazing with a new sound and his own funky-blues/rock, but he is also a hero, a man who literally puts his life on the line for his country, and his family. He has simply not been discovered nationally yet, but when it happens, he'll have the substance and talent to shine brightly for many years. Jake writes. He composes. He puts down his guns, picks up his guitars and rocks like a superstar, commanding his audience, taking them with him on his travels through melody and time, and he gently deposits them on the other side of their own reality, exhausted, emotionally spent, and oftentimes, in tears. |
