I wrote this to the bands back in 2011:
May 12, 2011
Tonight I had a very happy moment when I heard local radio playing local artists original music, and giving local talent a spotlight in our area. It's been extremely difficult to get any radio stations to acknowledge anything other than "big music". WXCS in Cambridge/Edinboro has been spotlighting regional artists for many years, but to also see a station the size of COOL 101.7 devote so much air time to helping promote regional bands and musicial artists, songwriters, and vocalists... and to know I helped that process along, made me very happy. Getting the ball rolling uphill is what was needed, and I see now the ball will continue to roll in favor of the many who are unsigned by a big record label, unknown and unsung, and yet so deserving of being heard! You guys ROCK, and make me proud!
-Lisa
